There will be an increase in global warming and several animal species of primates will be vanished away within a few years. These forests are a lifeline for the mammals, reptiles, primates, birds and orthopoda which are alive today because of the surviving rainforests.
Unfortunately, these rainforests which are two thirds of the rain forests in the world are being felled at a greater speed. At present, 16 lakh square kilometers of rain forests have been cleared for creating a grazing land for catties; agricultural expansion, farm houses and ranches.
A large area of land has been cleared for housing, roads and timber trade. The Amazon forests are providing shelter to a large world of wild animals and plants. A large number of plant species from Amazonia are used in extracting herbal medicines.

There is a great need to protect wild plants and animals for the survival of human life.
